first ski trip

we took atlee on her first ski trip to angel fire, nm the first weekend in february. our friends from decatur- jason, maria, and landree were able to join in on the fun too. we are so glad they came because we had such a fab time! after arriving we learned that the age requirement for ski school is 4 yrs...so we obviously didn't do school this year. we decided to go ahead and get the girls into some ski's and let them get the feel for it. the first day they were a little apprehensive, but did ok with us just guiding them around. the second day was much better....they were brave enough to get on the top of a hill and ski down to their daddy's. all in all we think atlee did great for her first time skiing and are looking forward to continuing our ski trips as a family!

what a cold 1st day of february! i told atlee last night that we would probably be seeing some snow today so first thing out of her this am was, "can i go make a snowman?" we did venture out to snap a few pics and make a snow angel.....but i didn't last long enough to make a snowman. she on the other hand was quite the snow bunny and would have stayed out all day if i let her. looks like we will be staying put tomorrow so maybe that snowman will be on our list of things to do. or......daddy.....i am praying that you won't get snowed in at work again and can come help with that lil' guy. :)

holidays 2010

our holidays were wonderful! it was great being closer to family this year and not traveling. we only had to get out of the house 2 times this Christmas and had lots of visitors in H-town.....being able to lounge in our pjs all day and have family come to us was a nice change. atlee was so much fun this Christmas! she actually understood all about santa and liked him....she knew that it was Jesus's birthday and why we celebrate the season. of course she is 3 years old so she enjoyed what all 3 year olds enjoy.....opening presents.....and lots of them. i don't have much to document in the picture department since daddy was left in charge of the camera and mommy had the video camera. i have lots of video, but i'm not sure how to shorten them. overall, the holidays came and went in a hurry, but it was definitely a memorable one to see christmas again through the eyes of a child.

ending 2010 and ringing in the new year with our little booger bear and the roberts fam was a great way to close out a fabulous year. cheers to 2011!

house makin'...gingerbread style

these 2 are a hot mess.....and put them together and you never know what you're going to get! we headed to berkley's house for a little house makin'. the 2 little ones actually did a pretty good job decorating....it was beth and i who lacked in the icing department. we both agreed that "cake boss" was not in either of our futures. so we decided we would do what we know best....veg on the couch and gossip while the girls finished up the gingerbread house, pushed baby strollers, shared some chicken nuggets, and spilled a burning candle. all in all it was a good night. oh and my princess didn't lay her head on the pillow until about midnight since beth gave her a christmas tree sweet treat. love you for that beth!
